Prompt and Response by Hailey

  • As you have grown, what kinds of people or things have you placed your identity in?

As I’ve thought more about the topic of self-discovery and growth, I have taken a look back at my own life and what that has looked like. I feel that my true self-discovery began when I started taking my faith seriously and began pursuing Jesus in a more dedicated way around my senior year of high school to my freshman year of college. Through my growing relationship with God, I found my identity in who He says I am and have come to realize that as I’ve grown with Him, He has grown me as an individual in many different ways from my ability to find joy in the struggle to understand that the only validation I must seek is His. I am no way perfect and am still continuing to grow everyday, but I have found comfort in this rather than an attitude of never feeling enough.
