“Explain a life-changing situation in terms of nature”
The leaves were brown, crunching beneath the heels of his shoes. Looking up at the large oak tree, he steadied his hand against a large burl that had grown from its bark. Deadened, cold, and dull, devoid of color. This tree had stood here months ago, but its branches had been vibrant shades of green, surrounded by a rainbow of flowers, daisies, peonies, dandelions. Now covered by a sheen of dewy snow, the flowers had withered away, bullet-shelled and blood-stained.
